Citizens has partnered with the Andy Warhol Museum to support Pittsburgh's arts and culture scene. The bank has donated $350,000 to help grow The Warhol Academy to support artists in the community, according to a press release.
The academy delivers fellowship opportunities to help artists develop their skill. It will create 28 fellowships in digital content creation, film making and post-production with Citizens.
The donation will also support Mikael Owunna's Anatomy of the Human art, which will showcase the intersection of art, technology and African cosmologies.
"Citizens is committed to supporting the communities in which we live and work, and we believe that arts and culture are not only the foundation of a strong community, but also drivers of economic strength," Brendan Coughlin, vice chairman and lead of consumer banking at Citizens, said in the release. "By joining forces with The Andy Warhol Museum, a beacon of artistic innovation, we look forward to fostering the creativity and diversity that will fuel the continued growth of Pittsburgh's workforce and cultural infrastructure."
