Citizens appoints board member

Citizens Financial Group Inc. appointed Tracy Atkinson to the board of directors and she will serve on the audit committee. She recently served as EVP of State Street Corp., according to a press release.

"We are pleased to welcome Tracy to our board of directors," Bruce Van Saun, CEO and chairman, Citizens, said in the release. "She brings deep financial expertise and has significant experience serving on U.S. boards, as well as a highly sophisticated understanding of enterprise risk management and governance matters, and hands-on experience navigating significant regulatory change over her 30-plus year career in financial services."

In addition, Edward Kelly III, a board member, will serve as the lead independent director.
