CIBC awards $350K to affordable housing

CIBC has awarded $350,000 to multiple affordable housing and business partners in Chicago, Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and St. Louis, Missouri.

The bank has been giving the awards since 2014 to provide services such as home buyer education and certification to Housing and Urban Development-certified counseling agencies, according to a press release.

"CIBC is proud to partner with organizations that make our communities stronger through affordable housing initiatives, low-cost mortgage options, financial literacy training, job creation, and access to capital for small businesses in our underserved communities," Michael G. Capatides, senior EVP and group head, US region, CIBC, said in the release.
