Chunghwa launches co-branded EasyCard, Visa debit card

A postal company in Taipei, Chunghwa Post, is launching a co-branded Visa debit card with an EasyCard transit card, enabling cardholders to purchase items as well as ride on public transit throughout the country with just one card.

Cardholders link the EasyCard to their checking and savings accounts, according to a report in the Taipeitimes. When choosing how to use the card, the cardholder can either use funds stored on the EasyCard or use the Visa debit for payment.

The card, which features a cartoon design of homing pigeons, can have funds added to it daily, but are capped at $106 per day or $350 total.
