Chase has rolled out a new self-service kiosk teller that acts as an ATM, cash recycler and debit card embosser. The bank has installed five of the kiosks in locations in Oregon, according to a report by the Mail Tribune.
"The volume of clients, tellers and bankers we have is a good fit for testing out technology in the valley," said Crater Lake Avenue Branch Manager Heather Wise. "The new kiosk does about 90 percent of the transactions done by a traditional teller."
The new kiosk features a portrait touchscreen and allows the user to perform basic transactions, such as cash withdrawals and credit card and mortgage payments. The unit dispenses bank notes in multiple denominations.
The kiosk also detects counterfeit bills. "So far it hasn't detected any counterfeits," Wise said. "But it's much more efficient in its count for tellers and individuals. It lets us know what's counted with no errors."
