Chase expanding cash back categories for EV charging, movie theaters

Chase unveiled bonus rewards categories for Freedom and Freedom Flex cardholders for the summer. In particular, the bank is offering 5% cash back on select live entertainment events and EV charging, according to a press release.

"We want our cardmembers to be the heroes of their own summer stories," Brent Reinhard, general manager of Chase Freedom, said in the release. "These cash back categories are all about creating moments that matter, from escaping into a movie to experiencing the electrifying energy of live theater or an esports championship. We're thrilled to offer Chase Freedom cardmembers extra value on cashbacking while enjoying meaningful experiences with their loved ones this summer."

Customers will have access to the following categories through Sept. 30:

• 5% back on concerts, live performances and sports.
• 5% back on movie theaters.
• 5% back on gas stations and EV charging.
