Charlie intros banking services for senior citizens

May 15, 2023

Charlie, a company that offers banking services through Sutton Bank, has launched its services for the 62+ age bracket. It offers tools such as faster access to Social Security checks, 3% earnings on average balances and no monthly fees or minimum balances, according to a press release.

Customers can access their Social Security checks up to four weeks early with no fees. Charlie designed its online services with clear navigation, color contrast and font size for the 62+ community.

All deposits are held at Sutton Bank, and customers can access a network of 55,000 ATMs, including at CVS and Walgreens. Customers can freeze or unfreeze their cards if there is any suspicious activity.

"In the United States, the 62+ community has never had financial services designed for their unique needs. Charlie was created to change that," Kevin Nazemi, co-founder and CEO of Charlie, said in the release. "Charlie is designed to meaningfully address the challenges retirees and soon-to-be-retirees face financially: shifting from accumulating assets to deaccumulation, the struggles regarding transparency and trust in the financial services world, and a lack of options to help them make the most of their limited resources to enjoy life. We look forward to serving this community and giving them the peace of mind they deserve."
