Carlisle, Pennsylvania man arrested for hammer ATM attack in ice cream shop

A man has been arrested in Carlisle, Pennyslvania after allegedly breaking into an ice cream shop and attacking the ATM inside with a hammer.

Richard Mallein, 53, is also accused of stealing cash from the cash register along with pints of ice cream, according to a report by Local 21 News.

Video footage at Leo's Ice Cream caught an individual entering the building. The individual was unsuccessful at opening the ATM, but they did take 12 packs of soda, two sweatshirts and other items.

He turned himself in a few days later and is being charged with burglary, criminal trespass, tampering with evidence, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief.
