PNC Bank today announced that, in partnership with Cardtronics, the bank will add 191 PNC-branded ATMs in Harris Teeter grocery stores in the Carolinas and other Eastern Seaboard states.
By Labor Day, all of the Cardtronics-owned and -operated ATMs will go online in 138 Harris Teeter grocery stores in North and South Carolina, and an additional 53 stores in Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.
PNC customers will have fee-free access during Harris Teeter store hours; in some cases, 24 hours a day. Customers will be able to withdraw cash, transfer money and check balances on checking and savings accounts.
"PNC is always looking for innovative ways to make banking easier and more convenient for our customers, and these Harris Teeter-based ATMs are a great way to expand our services throughout North Carolina and beyond," said Jim Burzotta, retail banking executive for PNC's southeast region.
"That Harris Teeter has consolidated ATM services with us, and that PNC Bank has branded hundreds of Cardtronics-owned and -operated ATMs, speaks volumes about Cardtronics' ability to provide safe and reliable ATM services, secure the best retail ATM placements and bring together the customer bases of two premium American brands," said Rick Updyke, president of the U.S. business group at Cardtronics.
Cardtronics and PNC initiated their branding partnership in 2005. Inclusive of the Harris Teeter locations, this relationship now comprises more than 585 ATMs in eight states plus Washington, D.C., with cash machines in grocers, convenience stores and pharmacies.
