Cardtronics get its ATMs into the aisles of Wegmans Food Markets

Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has selected Cardtronics Inc. to deploy ATMs in 77 stores in five states, and Wegmans administrative offices, both companies announced yesterday.

Houston-based Cardtronics, the nation's largest non-bank owner and operator of ATMs, will deploy a total of 86 ATMs in Wegmans stores located in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland.

Some Wegmans stores will receive more than one machine. Deployment of the ATMs has already begun and the rollout is scheduled for completion this summer. Cardtronics signed a long-term agreement to manage the cash dispensers, a spokesperson said.

Wegmans Food Markets is a privately held, family-owned business based in Rochester, N.Y.
