Cardtronics acquires Automated Financial

Cardtronics continues to grow through acquisition. The company announced this week that its U.S. fleet now stands at 66,400 ATMs with the purchase of another IAD.

That total was bolstered by 2,100 machines with the company's acquisition of the ATM business assets of Chandler, Ariz.-based Automated Financial LLC. The transaction was signed and closed on Feb. 6; terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The purchase not only adds to the Cardtronics portfolio, but it also establishes the company's first sales and service office in Arizona, a news release said. In recent years, acquisitions by Cardtronics have added regional hubs for the company in New Jersey, Minnesota, Oregon, California and now Arizona.

All Automated Financial cash machines will be converted to the Cardtronics brand, the company said.
