HOUSTON -- Cardtronics, the nation's largest independent ATM owner-operator, announced it has acquired 1,100 ATM locations and the related merchant contracts from National Bank Equipment Corporation (NBEC), an independent sales organization (ISO) based in Buffalo, N.Y.
According to a news release, the acquisition by Cardtronics expands the company's total ATM network to more than 11,000 locations, greatly expanding its presence in New York State and the surrounding areas.
"We are very pleased to add these locations and this merchant base to our rapidly growing portfolio," said Jack Antonini, chief executive officer of Cardtronics. "As the industry continues to consolidate, we are aggressively pursuing the acquisition of well-managed ATM portfolios like NBEC's to fuel our growth."
"Cardtronics has the infrastructure in place to minimize any disruptions to our customers ensuring that they receive the highest quality and consistency of services," said Tom Kielich, founder and president of NBEC. "Since Cardtronics started as an entrepreneurial venture just like NBEC, I feel very comfortable that their industry knowledge and expertise in managing ATM programs will make sure that each merchant will continue to receive outstanding customer service."
