DUBLIN, Ireland - CR2, a global provider of channel and Internet banking, ATM and card payment software solutions, has announced that Cayman Islands-based Butterfield Bank selected its BankWorld ATM solution for the management of Butterfield's ATM network, according to a news release.
Butterfield Bank has chosen the BankWorld ATM Client, Distributor and Controller solutions to manage its ATMs on the islands. Butterfield is the first bank in the Caribbean to license CR2's BankWorld ATM solution, according to the release.
The Windows-based ATM Client also will allow the bank to present a full graphical interface at the touchpoint; BankWorld Controller reports network or hardware faults immediately when they occur; and BankWorld Distributor allows the bank to update the ATM software remotely.
"We have been very happy with CR2 over the last 12 years," said Ray Farrington, manager of information systems for Butterfield Bank, in the release. "The upgraded ATMs, together with the new software, provide us with Triple Des compliance, which, of course, is an absolute must before May 2005."
"Butterfield Bank has been named " Bank of the year" in the Cayman Islands by the Banker magazine in 2002 and again this year", said Kieran Kilcullen, sales and marketing director for CR2. "One of the reasons they were chosen is for their innovative use of technology. By offering the mobile top up facility on their ATMs to non-bank customers, they are providing a service matched by few banks in the region."
