June 19, 2007
ONTARIO, Calif. - Co-Op Financial Services has given its first annual "Credit Union for Kids" leadership award to Bill Butler, president and chief executive of Ohio Federal Credit Union. The award, which honors an individual for outstanding service to the Children's Miracle Network's Credit Unions for Kids program, was presented at Co-Op's 2007 Conference & Annual Shareholders' Meeting.
According to a news release, Butler has contributed hundreds of hours to founding and organizing "Ohio Credit Unions, Marching Miles for Miracle Kids," a 19-day relay walk across Ohio.
This nearly 200-mile journey included stops at children's hospitals and participating credit-union branches along the route. The group of almost 200 CEOs, employees and volunteers raised $81,000 in donations.
