Brooklyn man runs ATM check fraud scheme

The NYPD are on the lookout for a man who allegedly ran an ATM check fraud scam. Through this scam, the man would approach individuals at ATMs and ask them to deposit a check n exchange for cash. These checks were fraudulent and would bounce, according to a report by Gothamist.

In four incidents, he allegedly approached individuals asking them to deposit the checks, netting $880, $2,860, $990 and $4,790 for nearly $10,000 in total.

All of these incidents took place in the afternoon and no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
