A Brink's truck driver named Reginald Carman has been charged with stealing more than a $1 million from 24 ATMs in Michigan. He allegedly put the cash in his lunch box, according to a report by Fox 2 Detroit.
An LAFCU representative got in touch with the FBI after discovering a shortage of $350,000 from ATMs, and Carman was the last one to service the machines. He allegedly committed these thefts from Nov. 15 to Dec. 28, after which he stopped showing up for work.
When an investigator reviewed video footage, he found Carman with a clear bag that appeared to contain money. After meeting up with Carman, he admitted to stealing the cash and returned $650,000. He claimed his father had recently passed away and his "mind was not right," according to the report.
Although Carman would give back other amounts on other occasions, Brink's still suspects that he has not returned all the money he stole from ATMs, as there is $22,260 still unaccounted for.
