Bitcoin Depot partnered with Independent Grocers Alliance to add its bitcoin ATMs at grocery stores in more than 25 countries. The IGA supports independent grocery stores through a network of more than 7,500 stores around the world, according to a press release.
Through this partnership, IGA can provide bitcoin access to customers in a local retail setting.
"This partnership with IGA helps us increase our reach to provide easy and secure access to bitcoin for consumers across diverse communities," Scott Buchanan, president and COO of Bitcoin Depot, said in the release. "By leveraging IGA's robust network of independent retailers, we are extending the reach of our kiosks while also opening the door to future international expansion."
"Partnering with Bitcoin Depot, a trusted leader in the crypto ATM space, allows us to offer our retailers a proven, secure way to meet growing consumer demand for digital assets," Michael La Kier, VP of brand development, IGA, said in the release. "This relationship will further help independent grocers stay competitive by bringing in new foot traffic and offering a service that's increasingly relevant to the communities they serve."
In other Bitcoin Depot related news, it announced the integration of anti fraud measures into its ATMs, including ID verification.
