Bill payment kiosk software aces security review

A Veracode software scan detected no vulnerabilities in Source Technologies' Self-Service BillPay kiosk code, the company says.

January 5, 2016

Source Technologies, a provider of integrated solutions for managing financial transactions, has announced that its Self-Service BillPay kiosk software rated a score of 100 percent from the Veracode SecurityReview program, which inspects technology vendors' software code for security flaws.

SecurityReview is designed to help enterprises detect security vulnerabilities in third-party applications; the Veracode scan found no such weaknesses in Source Technologies' Self-Service BillPay kiosk software, ensuring that customer data is protected at all times, the company said in a press release.

The Source Technologies solution combines the company's 6-Series kiosk and its BillPay software application for retailers who want to offer their customers convenient self-service bill payment capabilities in-store. BillPay software is PCI compliant and interacts with the kiosk to accept payment forms that include cash, credit, debit, check and prepaid cards, the company said

"With more than 100 million people in the U.S. using cash for all of their transactions, retail customers walk into stores to make bill payments every day," said Keith Hamilton, CEO of Source Technologies. "Our Self-Service BillPay kiosk helps retailers safely automate in-store bill payments, giving their customers an easy, secure way to pay bills without having to wait in long lines for an employee to take their payment."
