Berkely intros wireless tool to prevent skimming

Berkely Varitronics Systems Inc., has introduced its BlueSleuth-Pro Bluetooth and BLE locator to help users locate unsecured wireless devices such as card skimmers in ATMs. The device uses direction finding hardware, a scanning receiver and software algorithms to detect the hidden Bluetooth devices, according to a press release.

"We took a three-pronged approach with BlueSleuth-Pro to address all customer concerns using a single device," Scott Schober, CEO of BVS, said in the release. "One handheld scanner will locate personal BLE trackers, Bluetooth card skimmers and other rogue devices."

The device comes with a rugged transport case, omni and directional antennas and rechargeable li-ion batteries. Pricing starts at $2,995.
