BBVA trials Amazon Locker tie-up in Austin, Texas

February 3, 2017

Ready for "branch transformation 2.0"? BBVA Compass announced recently that it is piloting Amazon Locker at 11 of its branches in Austin, Texas. The partnership marks the first time Amazon Locker will be available with a bank in the United States.

BBVA said in a press release that the pilot program reflects its commitment to innovation and collaboration on new and better ways of delivering customer solutions.

"BBVA Compass preaches disruption from within and without when it comes to creating the best possible solutions for its customers," said Andres Cueto, BBVA Compass director of ATM channel and branch strategy and design. "Amazon is much the same, constantly pushing the envelope in terms of providing new and differentiated products and services. We couldn't be more thrilled to offer Amazon Locker at our branches to our customers and the greater community."

The Amazon Locker is a secure, fully automated solution for picking up Amazon orders, the release said. Customers can choose the service when checking out at Amazon.com.

Upon delivery of the order at the specified Amazon Locker location, the customer receives an email with a code to enter at the locker to retrieve the package. There is no additional cost to use the service and 24-hour pickup is available at all BBVA pilot locations,
