BBVA and tech startup Das-Nano have signed a foundation agreement forming Veridas, a technology company specializing in biometrics.
Veridas will be directed by Das-Nano co-founder Eduardo Azanza, and will be dedicated to the research and development of software for digital verification and authentication of personal identity using fingerprint reading or facial, voice, image or document recognition.
According to a press release, these technologies will allow BBVA to guarantee the authoritative remote identification of employees and customers remotely, simplifying access to off-site services and proving a new degree of security for digital channels.
The relationship between BBVA and Das-Nano began in 2015 with a collaboration to develop joint projects in personal identity authentication.
Das-Nano, founded in 2012, has positioned itself among the principal providers of nanotechnology, biometric and document verification solutions, the release said.
