Wisconsin-based Bay Bank, which has two branch locations in Wisconsin as well as several ATMs owned by the Oneida Nation, will open a branch on the Menominee Reservation, in Keshena this December.
Although there is a credit union in the town, Bay Bank will be the first full-service bank in Menominee County, according to a press release.
Bay Bank is the only tribal-owned bank in Wisconsin, and its leadership has been working with Menominee tribal leaders, Wolf River Development Company and U.S. Oil to open the 2,200-square-foot branch, which will be adjoining the Standing Pines Convenience Store that operates a gas station, convenience store and car wash in Keshena.
The bank plans to hire Menominee community members.
