BankUnited appoints SVP of consumer, small business banking

BankUnited Inc. hired Ernie Diaz as SVP of consumer and small business. In this role, he will lead the bank's consumer, small business and commercial banking teams, according to a press release.

Prior to joining BankUnited, he served as EVP of TD Bank. In his role, he will also oversee branch and sales strategy for the bank in Florida, Texas and New York.

"With nearly four decades of leadership in the banking industry, Ernie is an accomplished, dynamic senior executive who is highly regarded for leading successful teams focused on growth," said Thomas M. Cornish, COO, BankUnited, said in the release.
