BankAtlantic selects Wausau as lockbox tech provider

October 17, 2005

MOSINEE, Wis. - Fort Lauderdale-based BankAtlantic ($6 billion in assets and more than 200 ATMs) is implementing Optima3 ImageRPS from Wausau Financial Systems for wholesale and retail lockbox processing.

According to a news release, the installation, in conjunction with the Unisys NDP200 Quantum, includes the processes of capturing, depositing, reporting, and billing for lockbox data and images for business customers.

Automating the process challenges the financial institution to identify a solution that will meet business customers' needs while enabling the FI to generate revenue, said Mike Vasey, executive vice president of remittance operations for Wausau.

Optima3 ImageRPS is a transactional-based platform that provides multiple workflow options for optimal speed and customer priority processing. FIs are able to handle various types of retail and wholesale lockbox transactions including checks only, check with OCR remit, check with full-page invoice, a variety of multiples, correspondence, and straight document only.

Anthony Gautney, BankAtlantic's senior vice president of relationship support, said his bank is already noticing big changes.

"Previously we had limitations in processing OCR scannable documents, and it became one of the biggest challenges our sales consultants faced when developing new lockbox business," Gautney said. "As our strategy continues to evolve and expand, Optima3 ImageRPS not only addresses this specific area, but will also help us improve accuracy and response time to our customers."
