Bank of Bird-in-Hand, a community bank with assets of approximately $236 million located in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, has received regulatory approval for a mobile banking unit.
The 29-foot full-service mobile bank on wheels will travel to various locations within Lancaster and Chester counties on the outskirts of Philadelphia, a press release said.
"As a community bank, Bank of Bird-in-Hand continues to look for innovative ways to service customers with the financial products that they want and need, while maintaining an efficient and cost-effective means of delivery," president and CEO Lori A. Maley said in the release.
"Bank of Bird-in-Hand's success is based on its dedication to providing exceptional value, service and convenience to small and medium-sized businesses, farmers, professionals, individuals and families. This ensures that customers have access to a full range of products while providing personalized service."
The unit will boast a built-in ATM, a walk-up customer service window and an interior space where customers can open accounts and transact business with the help of a customer service representative.
The bank hopes to debut the mobile bank in the first quarter of 2018, the press release said.
