CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) said it will accept financial donations at any of its banking centers for victims of the recent terrorist acts against the U.S.
The bank will forward donations from anyone to The September 11th Fund, which was established nationally by United Ways, The New York Community Trust and the Council on Foundations, specifically to address the immediate and long-term needs of those who were victims of terrorism.
The Bank of America Foundation announced a donation of $1 million to The September 11th Fund on Sept 12.
Contributions at Bank of America banking centers may be made by check or money order. Checks should be payable to The September 11th Fund. Credit card donations are possible online at www.september11fund.com. Contributions also can be mailed to: United Way September 11th Fund, PO Box 402880, Atlanta, Ga., 30384-2880.
Bank of America operates about 4,500 banking centers in the District of Columbia and 21 states.
