Bank customers continue shifting to ATMs

TMCnet: SBI has seen a shift in transactions from branches to alternate channels such as ATMs and Internet. Transactions in branches are now down to 60 percent as against five years ago when almost all transactions were done through branches.

A. Ramesh Kumar, chief general manager of Mumbai circle, said there has been a large migration to ATMs after the bank went on an ATM installations spree in the last two years.
