Bakkt appoints EVP of digital assets

Bakkt Holdings LLC, a digital asset marketplace, has selected Dan O'Prey to serve as its executive vice president of digital assets. In this role, O'Prey will develop strategies for cryptocurrency and digital assets, according to a press release.

Prior to joining Bakkt, O'Prey served as chief strategy officer at Digital Asset.

"I'm thrilled to be taking a role pivotal to Bakkt's expansion, as the industry enters the next phase of mass adoption," O'Prey said in the release. "We sit perfectly at that intersection of secure institutional infrastructure and disruptive consumer technology, key components that enable the mainstream utility of bitcoin and other digital assets."
