Australian bank implements Phoenix's ATM software

August 12, 2004

SYDNEY -- St. George Bank, Australia's fifth-largest financial institution, has successfully completed its installation of Phoenix Interactive's multi-vendor VISTAatm software.

According to a news release, all facets of the ATM business are effectively delivered via the XFS-based software, including switching, monitoring, hardware support/management and connectivity -- all in a Microsoft Windows environment.

In September 2002, St.George awarded Phoenix an exclusive contract to provide VISTAatm as the software  to drive its 1,000 ATMs, all of which were NCR machines. Subsequent to its decision to implement VISTAatm, the bank added several hundred Diebold ATMs. According to the release, the move was facilitated by VISTAatm's multi-vendor capability.

Martin Eltoft, St. George's chief manager of electronic banking solutions said in the release, "The bank's customers will notice enhanced presentation of transaction prompts at our ATMs and the software will allow for specific advertising, messaging and functionality to be deployed at specific sites."
