ATMs found dumped in Washington DC creek

Washington D.C. residents recently found 18 ATMs in Watts Branch Creek. The FBI is investigating this incident, according to a report by NBC 4 Washington.

Neighbors complained about the ATMs on social media, which led to the D.C. Department of General Services to retrieve the machines. Investigators believe the ATMs were stolen from local businesses.

"We are working with federal and local partners all up and down the eastern seaboard, mid-Atlantic region to try to identify where these crimes have occurred," Jeffrey Kopp, police captain, Washington D.C., told the news outlet. "We know that several occurred in the District of Columbia."
