ATMIA names executive director for US chapter

May 17, 2012

The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA), this week announced that it has hired David Tente as executive director for the organization's largest chapter, ATMIA USA. He will take up his new appointment in June.

Tente brings more than 30 years of experience in IT sales and business development to ATMIA. His professional background includes not only expertise with ATM solutions and strategy development, but also 13 years in the payments industry.

Much of Tente's career has revolved around helping payment solution developers make better use of emerging technologies. Most recently, he worked directly with banks and credit unions to help transition in-house payment systems to an outsourced, software-as-a-service model. He also led initiatives to grow both financial institution and customer acceptance of automated deposit solutions for the ATM, working closely with FIs, network providers, core system vendors and others.

"ATMs are a delivery channel that is more important than ever to banks and credit unions, as well as the payments industry, which makes it a great time to become part of ATMIA," Tente said. "I look forward to working with our members and committees in the months ahead, and sharing ideas for spurring growth in both membership and conference participation."

"David's experience, skill set and industry knowledge stood out from the other applicants for the post," said Mike Lee, CEO of ATMIA. "As a dynamic guy, I know he plans to hit the ground running. Our U.S. chapter deserves an individual of his caliber."

Tente lives in the Orlando, Fla. area. He is married and has three grown children.
