CAPE TOWN, South Africa - ATM Industry Association has launched a new Web portal, www.atmiaee.com, which will carry ATM industry news and information to the huge markets of Eastern Europe in Russian and English.
The new portal is a joint venture between ATMIA and Penki Kontinentai, a software creator based in Vilnius, Lithuania, and member of the board of ATMIA Europe, according to a news release.
Tachmasib Dadashev, author of several books on computer issues and editor-in-chief of "Penki Kontinentai Online," will co-ordinate the content from both ATMIA sources and news sources within Eastern Europe.
Eastern Europe is the fastest-developing market in the world for self-service banking and cards technology. It represents a market with massive potential with a population of over 200 million and a rapidly developing banking industry, the release said.
The Eastern European Portal is the latest addition to ATMIA's online presence, with its global home page at www.atmia.com and four regional sites for its chapters in North America, Europe, Africa and Australasia.
Website traffic to the sites is very steady, according to the release, with just under 200,000 hits per month on the North America site, 100,000 hits per month on the European site, 35,000 per month on the Australasian site and 25,000 per month on the African site.
