LONDON - The ATM Industry Association's(ATMIA) European chapter held its first full board meeting recently with representatives of 23 British and European firms in attendance.
The chapter, established last September by the three-year-old U.S.-based ATMIA, holds trade shows, provides regulatory news and does lobbying on issues important to the industry, according to ATMIA international director Mike Lee. The organization held a conference on ATM security in June, and will host its first full conferencein London Sept. 18-19, 2001.
Companies represented on the ATMIA Europe board include LINK, NCR Corp., Triton Systems Inc., Hanco, Moneybox, Cash Card, Securicor Cash Services, TRM, Nationwide, Cashtec services, ACI Worldwide, De La Rue, Retail Banking Research Ltd., AT-Com, Toccata Inc., ADT Fire & Security, Bastion Security, Securitas UK, Mosaic Software, Transaction Network Services, Western Union, ATMedia and Penki Kontinentai.
Lee said board members discussed promoting cross-fertilization between UK and European businesses and further expansion across Europe.
The ATM Industry Association, founded in 1997, is a global non-profit trade association with over 10,500 members in 65 countries. The membership base covers the full range of this worldwide industry comprising over 2.2 million installed ATMs.
