February 21, 2005

MIAMI - The ATM Industry Association has elected its new executive members of the Board of Directors for 2005-07. The association announced the election results during the ATMIA East Conference Feb. 14-16.

Tom Harper, president of Louisville, Ky.-based NetWorld Alliance and publisher of ATMmarketplace, was elected to his second consecutive term as the board's president. Harper is a founding ATMIA director who has been involved with the association since 1997.

Sandra Hartfield, president of Palm Desert National Bank's Electronic Banking Division, was elected chairwoman of the board. Hartfield has been a member of the board since August 2004.

Mike Lee was elected to his second term as ATMIA's chief executive officer. Lee has been with ATMIA since 2000.

Mike Clinard of Cardtronics, who became a board member in 2003, was elected first vice president. Mark Coons of American Special Risk, who became a member of the board in 2001, was elected second vice president.

Non-executive members elected to the board included Dominic Hirsch of Retail Banking Research and Tim Wildash of ATM Solutions Australia Pty. Ltd.

The board bid farewell to one-term board director Ernest Burdette, a charter member of ATMIA and founder of Triton.

"I had been thinking about stepping back and taking time out for a while," Burdette said. "It was time to get out of the way and give others time to have leadership."

Over the the last seven years, Burdette said, ATMIA's focus has changed to better represent the entire ATM industry. "It started out just for ISOs," he said. Now, ATMIA has more than 70 financial institution members.

It will be several months before ATMIA members vote on a replacement for Burdette.
