ATMIA announces keynote speaker for 2018 US conference

July 6, 2017

The ATM Industry Association has announced that cybersecurity expert Theresa Payton will headline its 2018 conference as keynote speaker.

Payton served in the administration of George W. Bush as the first female White House chief information officer, and is an authority on internet security, data breaches and fraud mitigation, an ATMIA press release said.

Earlier in her career, Payton held senior vice president roles at two of the country's largest banks. Since 2008, she has served as CEO of Fortalice Solutions Llc., a risk, fraud and security company serving the public and private sectors. In addition, Payton co-founded the cybersecurity firm Dark Cubed in 2014.

Payton also appears on the CBS reality TV series, "Hunted," which challenges two-person teams of contestants to elude investigators and "disappear" in a digital world.

In her presentation at the ATMIA conference, Payton will delve into threats in the cyberunderworld and will offer a proven blueprint to stay a step ahead of criminals by thinking like the adversary and managing cybersecurity risk.

The 2018 ATMIA conference, themed "Innovate and Succeed: The Next Decade for ATMs," will take Feb. 6–8 at the Wynn Las Vegas. Payton will address the audience on the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 7.

The association is accepting online speaking proposals for presentations, panel discussions and workshops through July 21.
