The ATM Industry Association has announced the launch of what it calls the world's first online ATM security training course.
The course outlines the most common threats to ATM security and best practices to mitigate the risk of each type of attack, and will become a vital educational tool for those responsible for, or concerned about, security threats, ATMIA said in a press release.
"This training course combines ATMIA global intelligence on ATM security threats and best practices in how to identify and mitigate these threats," said course content creator Douglas Russell of DFR Risk Management Ltd. "It is a must for those in the industry who wish to protect the integrity of their operations and maintain the confidence their customers have in the integrity of the ATM channel."
Sessions within the course include:
"This certified professional training course offers a comprehensive introduction to global ATM security and industry best practices," ATMIA CEO Mike Lee said in the announcement. "It will lead to greater protection and therefore enhanced trust levels in the global ATM industry."
ATMIA will offer a certificate of completion for the course, the release said. Additional information and registration are available at the ATMIA Academy website.
The ATM Industry Association, founded in 1997, is a global non-profit trade association with over 10,500 members in 65 countries. The membership base covers the full range of this worldwide industry comprising over 2.2 million installed ATMs.
