The ATMcommunity, which is comprised of more than 810 professionals in 54 countries, is passing along a warning about criminals employing fraudulent appeals for charitable donations to assist victims of Japan's earthquake and tsunami.
"The ATMcommunity was warned of 419-styled fraud scams as well as malicious.zip files and nefarious attackers sending malicious java scripts attached to fake charity-donation appeals," organization officials said.
The group is advising Internet users not to provide bank account, credit card, debit card and bank account information to any charity until it has been verified.
