ATM switch receives PCI certification

August 25, 2010

The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council has certified ElectraCard Services’ electraSWITCH, an authorization and routing switch that enables financial institutions to deliver services through ATMs.

The Wakefield, Mass.-based council qualified electraSWITCH for the Payment Application Data Security Standard, which is intended to help businesses protect cardholder data.

ElectraSWITCH is an EMV compliant EFT open-platform, routing and authorization switch. In addition to enabling banks to route services through ATMs, electraSWITCH moves transactions through kiosks, mobile phones and point-of-sale locations.

Rames Mengawade, CEO of Pune, India-based ElectraCard Services, said certification recognizes the company’s investments in product development and innovative payment programs. Opus Software Solutions Ltd., which is also based in Pune, owns ElectraCard Services.
