ATM stolen from retail store

June 8, 2003

WEST BOXFORD, Mass. -- Boxford police are looking for three suspects they believe stole an ATM -- which only contained $120 in cash -- from a store here.

According to the Tri-Town Transcript, police believe at least two people broke into the store sometime between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on May 25, and pried the 300-pound machine free from the cement floor.

Police Lt. Robert Hazelwood believes the thieves carried the machine out of the store because there were no drag marks on the floor. They also stole $2,300 worth of lottery tickets.

The report said the ATM was a non-bank unit, which had been in the store for about two-and-a-half years.
