ATM software provider expands into Middle East

September 24, 2003

LONDON - Level Four Software, a provider of ATM test and development software, says it is expanding into the Middle East through an exclusive partnership with Xeno-Logic, a Dubai based professional services provider.

Xeno-Logic will help Level Four market its ATM Channel Development Suite, including the EMV FastTrack module, which helps ATM deployers ready their networks for smart card acceptance. In line with European banks, Middle Eastern financial institutions must comply with the EMV (Europay/Mastercard/Visa) smart card standard by January 2005.

According to a news release, Level Four's EMV FastTrack enables automated smart card testing directly from a desktop PC. It creates EMV compatible downloads and facilitates full end-to-end transaction testing directly from the smart card, through the ATM and up to
the host system.

Xeno-Logic will provide Level Four with assistance in sales, implementation and first line support. Level Four will provide online Web-based fault tracking and resolution management at its operational office in Dunfermline, Scotland.

"Level Four's proven technology clearly meets a demand that Middle Eastern banks are looking for -- more sophisticated and thorough testing tools including support for the EMV2000 standard for their ATM environments," said Osman Mehta, Xeno-Logic's director and co-founder, in the release.

Level Four also has appointed Jan Bateman as its new operations director. She will manage the UK and European operations of the company, based from the new flagship headquarter office in Dunfermline, Scotland.

She will assume responsibility for the company's research and development, which includes new product road maps as well as consultancy for existing clients. She will also manage day-to-day operations, including installations, support and the help-desk, which features an online problem reporting and tracking system for clients.

Bateman has 25 years experience in the IT industry, including a 17-year stint at Logica.
