STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Smile, you're busted again!
Sean Redner, 22, appeared in District Court and was ordered to pay $317 in fine and court costs after vandalizing a Citizens Bank ATM on Jan. 1. He was apprehended after two bank security photos of him appeared in the Pocono Record.
The photos showed him kicking the ATM and causing about $400 in damage
The victim and a witness to a Jan. 2 robbery at a Western Union store saw the photos and fingered Redner for that crime.
The victim said that while she awaited service at Western Union, Redner grabbed money out of her hands and she struggled to get the money back. She succeeded in recovering most of her cash, though the robber did flee with $200. But the suspect lost his shirt and sweatshirt, which came loose during the struggle.
During the scuffle the suspect made reference to having a knife, and a five-inch folding knife was found inside a sweatshirt pocket.
When the ATM photo was published, the victim and the store owner both called police and identified Redner as the attacker. He now faces a felony robbery charge, with the intent to inflict injury, theft, and simple assault.
