ATM scam nets Melbourne thieves $500,000

Australian Broadcasting Corp.:Victoria police estimate about $500,000 has been stolen from an ANZ Bank using a skimming device attached to an ATM in Melbourne. Investigators believe the criminals responsible for the skimming attacks are part of an international organization operating within Australia and originating from southern Europe. More than 5,000 bank customers have likely been affected and more devices may be operating at other banks.
