Doral, Fla.--Allpoint Network, the nation’s largest surcharge-free ATM network, announced yesterday that APTUS Financial, an independent ATM operator has joined Allpoint, giving the company a stronger presence in the Pacific Northwest.
Ben Psillas, president of Allpoint, said APTUS deploys 1,000 machines in 20 states. The long-term contract also improves Allpoint’s reach in Washington and Oregon. “The agreement fills in gaps,” Psillas said Tuesday, the opening day of the ATM Industry Association conference.
APTUS, which is based in Portland, Ore., joined Allpoint on the acquiring side, meaning that the Allpoint logo will appear on APTUs ATMs. Cardholders whose financial institutions are Allpoint members can withdraw funds from the machines surcharge-free. APTUS does not issue any payment cards.
The assumption is that the agreement with Allpoint will drive traffic to APTUS ATMs.
“The ability of Allpoint to drive traffic to ATMs and the retail locations where they are placed is well proven," stated Rick Holt, President of APTUS Financial. "Allpoint puts significant effort into driving network value through its mobile ATM locator apps, online tools, financial institution marketing and other initiatives. This makes Allpoint an ideal partner for APTUS as we look to increase transaction volumes across our portfolio."
Allpoint‘s network consists of 35,000 ATMs nationwide and 43,000 worldwide. Allpoint is based in Bethesda, Md.
