Anonymo promises 'quick and effective' solution for GDPR compliance

January 18, 2018

With the May deadline for Europe's General Data Protection Regulation approaching, Swiss software provider SandSIV has debuted anonymo, a standalone tool for data analytics.

The application was purpose-built to cloak sensitive data within its CX SaaS platform with total anonymization, according to a company press release.

"As GDPR tightens legal requirements for the protection of sensitive, personal data, more and more organizations will experience difficulties with altering and rebuilding their data security ecosystems," SandSIV CEO Federico Cesconi said. "Thankfully, we had already been working on a product to solve that problem."

The pseudonymization technology behind anonymo allows for relaxations of certain provisions of the GDPR, allowing for far less strict data breach notification requirements; the possibility of exemption from requirements for data subject access, correction, erasure and data portability requests; and greater flexibility to conduct data profiling.

The software allows for real-time anonymization, automatic detection of more than 50 languages and various data formats, full integration with relevant data sources and legacy systems, accuracy control, and tailored pseudonymization, the release said.

The ability of anonymo to integrate with existing systems eliminates the "time-consuming, expensive process of changing everything," Cesconi said.
