BETHESDA, Md. - Allpoint, America's largest surcharge-free ATM network, announced the formation of a deployer alliance with NetBank Payment Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of NetBank, Inc., that will contribute more than 6,000 new surcharge-free ATMs to Allpoint in key markets.
According to a news release, the new alliance increases the total number of surcharge-free ATMs in Allpoint to more than 30,000 nationwide.
"The NetBank Payment Systems' alliance is a great example of how Allpoint is continually looking to add ATMs in key markets to meet the demands of our financial institution members and their cardholders," said Ben Psillas, president of Allpoint. "NetBank Payment Systems' portfolio of ATMs is a great complement strategically and geographically to our existing 25,000 surcharge-free ATMs. All 6,000 NetBank Payment System ATMs are located in retail locations, and the additional ATMs provide a significant boost in the number of surcharge-free ATMs in many key markets, including California, Illinois, Virginia and the entire Midwest and Southeast."
Since launching the network in April 2003, Allpoint has grown its network of surcharge-free ATMs from 23,000 to now more than 30,000. In addition to NetBank Payment Systems, Allpoint's partners also include Cardtronics, the nation's largest ATM deployer, and Fiserv, one of the largest EFT processors in the country.
"Cardholder convenience is the driving force for adding more surcharge-free ATMs to Allpoint," said Psillas. "In fact, in a 2003 survey conducted by Visa, 92 percent of respondents said they view ATM access as the most important factor when choosing a bank."
The integration of the ATMs into the Allpoint network is expected to take 90 days.
