Alliance One adds ATMs in D.C. area

December 3, 2001

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Alliance One, a selective surcharging group operated by Corporate One Federal Credit Union, has added more than 225 ATMs in the Washington D.C. area to its network through an arrangement with Encore Electronic Services Co-op of Falls Church Va., a credit union owned and operated cooperative that was organized to provide ATM and other electronic services for the credit union community.

Alliance One currently has more than 1,100 participating financial institutions, offering its members access to more than 2,900 ATMs nationwide.

The agreement with Encore has added more than 40 Alliance One credit union participants.

Sheryl White, Alliance One administrator and assistant vice president of product support at Corporate One Federal Credit Union, said, "Since the Washington D.C. area is a popular destination for many credit union members, having these new ATMs added to Alliance One is a benefit to all members in the group."

Alliance One, established by Corporate One Federal Credit Union, offers selective-surcharging ATMs in 30 states and the District of Columbia. The alliance was formed to give credit unions the ability to offer their members access to surcharge-free ATM terminals but now also includes other types of financial institutions such as community banks and thrifts, according to a news release.
