Debit card holders in Haiti will be able to make transactions at any ATM starting Oct. 1, according to a Haitian Times report.
The news was announced by Jean Baden Dubois, governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti, during a launching ceremony of the support fund for savings cooperatives and credit.
"Whether it is a large financial institution or a small financial institution, a large cooperative or a small cooperative, as soon as they are part of the financial system, they are all included," Dubois stated at the event.
Dubois said the freedom to bank at any ATM is a giant step in BRH's goal to modernize its banking system.
