Cash Depot Ltd., a Green Bay, Wisc.-based ATM service provider, has deployed application delivery controllers from Array Networks Inc. to manage 2048-bit SSL standard secure transaction processing and provide enhanced security for customers.
The Array APV2600 ADCs reside in front of servers that run the secure transaction processing switch for Cash Depot to ensure both encryption security and optimal availability for connections between ATMs and the Cash Depot network, a news release from Array said.
The service provides a secure connection between ATMs at merchant establishments and the Smart Connect head-end processing switch on the Cash Depot network. For each transaction, the Array appliance decrypts the SSL connection, passes the traffic to servers running in a virtualized environment, and then forwards it to financial services networks on the back-end to connect ATM users with their financial institution.
The new ADCs have allowed Cash Depot to absorb increased ATM traffic, the release said. Furthermore, deployed at both primary and secondary data centers, they allow Cash Depot to seamlessly conduct maintenance and upgrades to the Smart Connect application without disrupting user transactions or incurring downtime.
"Cash Depot is expected to significantly increase their transaction volumes and the number of ATMs on their network in the coming year, and we are confident that the scalability and high-availability of the Array solution will provide a solid foundation to manage the company's forecasted requirements," said Paul Andersen, director of marketing at Array Networks.
