ACS announces first-quarter earnings

April 15, 2002

DALLAS -- Affiliated Computer Services Inc., a leading IT services company, announced that its diluted earnings per share for its fiscal 2000 first quarter ended Sept. 30, 1999 increased 27 percent, to 47 cents from 37 cents per share for the same quarter last year.

Revenues for the first quarter were $447.7 million, up 23 percent compared with $363.4 million for the year-ago quarter. Net income for the first quarter was $25.0

"This was the 20th consecutive quarter of double digit earnings growth and this consistency has enabled ACS to continue its five-year streak of meeting or beating quarterly consensus analysts' estimates," said Jeff Rich, ACS president and CEO.

Rich added, "We had an excellent quarter of new business signings in both our commercial and federal government sectors. The pace of new business signings, coupled with our recent acquisition of Consultec, provide us an excellent foundation to achieve our financial objectives for fiscal year 2000."

Dallas-based ACS, a Fortune 1000 company, has operations primarily in North America, as well as Central America, South America, Europe and the Middle East. ACS provides a full range of IT services, including technology outsourcing, business process outsourcing and professional services.
