ACI signs seven new customers in 2Q '05

OMAHA, Neb. - Transaction Systems Architects Inc. (Nasdaq: TSAI), ACI Worldwide Inc.'s parent company, reported revenue of $75.6 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2005, which ended March 31. Revenue was down slightly from $76.5 million in 2Q '04, according to a news release.

However, year-to-date revenue was $156.2 million, up 4 percent from the same period last year. Recurring revenue - influenced by deals ACI inked with seven new customers - jumped 47 percent and earnings per share rose 38 percent from the same period last year.

ACI Worldwide also licensed 19 capacity upgrades during the quarter.

"We are pleased with our strong second quarter financial results," said Philip G. Heasley, president and chief executive of TSA. "Each business unit delivered solid, focused performance this quarter. We also extended our worldwide presence to 79 countries and added 13 new customers during the quarter."

TSA revised its revenue estimate for 2005 from a range of $285 million to $308 million to $296 million to $312 million.

"We believe we are well-positioned with our global presence, strong financial position and market-leading solutions and services," Heasley continued. "We look forward to continued growth of our franchise during the second half of fiscal 2005."
